One step towards sustainability

People consume too much energy, use too much water and eject too much carbon into the atmosphere. It is obvious that we consume more resources than the earth can handle. Therefore not only individual people should accept responsibility for the environment, but also companies. The earth does not belong to us people alone, but also to all other living beings such as animals and plants. We achieve sustainability by not only minding our pollutant releases and energy consumption, but also by using certified components for our products.

DGNB compliant cubicle systems: for your building certifications

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen e.v. (German Society for Sustainable Building, registered society) is a certification system for sustainable and economically efficient building in Germany. Founded in 2007 by 16 initiators from different fields of the construction and real estate industry, this society launched a certification system just one year later, according to which already more than 750 projects have been certified. It serves the impartial description and evaluation of the sustainability of buildings and city districts.

For the evaluation of buildings, about 50 criteria apply from subject areas such as ecology, economics, sociocultural and functional aspects, engineering, processing and location. Depending on the degree of fulfilment of the requirements, the programme owner DGNB awards certificates in Gold, Silver or Bronze. It is essential that the DGNB system never assesses single measures but always the overall performance of a building or city district.

The cubicle systems cronus, NiUU, C-BASIC and D-BASIC fulfil these requirements according to DGNB and therefore contribute to your building certification.

DIN EN ISO 14001: sustainable thinking and action

KEMMLIT has also been certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001 and thereby places emphasis on the area of environmental management.

The ISO 14001 norm defines environmental management requirements, which enable a company to improve its environmental performance, fulfil legal and other obligations and reach environment objectives. The essential elements of the DIN EN ISO 14001 are:

- Planning: definition of environmental objectives, which the company pursues including measures

- Execution: realization of the measures

- Check: check achievement of objectives

- Improvement: adaption of measures
